Tri-City College Prep first in county math competition

Tri-City College Prep High School earned an overall first place for the sixth year in a row at the Northern Arizona University Math Competition Jan. 24 at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott.

The competition recognizes individual students’ scores as well as each school’s total scores in each of five levels.

In the individual competition, students compete in five levels. Tri-City’s Wyatt Dougherty, Level 1, earned first place; Asa Dougherty earned second and Vince Carr earned fourth place in Level 2; Sam Stroud earned fourth place in Level 3.

Schools also compete at each level, and Tri-City Prep students earned first place in Level 1, second place in Levels 2 and 3, and third place in Level 5.
