Obituary: Joan Eleanor Snyder Fox
On Saturday, March 16, 2019, Joan Eleanor Snyder Fox, loving wife and mother, went to be with her Lord at the age of 86. Joan was born in Rome, New York, to Steven and Cora Rieck Snyder in 1932.
She was raised among extended family with both grandparents and four doting Rieck aunts close by. She was an honor graduate of Rome Free Academy in 1950 and went to work for Revere Copper and Brass where she worked until she married Jamie Fox on May 31, 1958.
The early years of their marriage involved frequent relocations. The first few months were in New Jersey, a short time in Baltimore at the Martin Company and then two years in Orlando, Florida, where Jamie Martin was born in November 1960. Then the family moved to Germany where Jamie worked on a missile system with the USAF and Juli and Paul were born. The next move was to California where Joan worked for the County of Orange for 20 years. Upon retirement, Jamie and Joan made Prescott, Arizona, their home in 1992.
Joan was known for her love of family and her kind, sweet spirit. She had a passion for nature and animals, decorating and fashion.
Joan was preceded in death by her father, Steven, and her mother, Cora. She is survived by her husband, Jamie; their three children, Jamie, Juli and Paul; four grandchildren, Cole, Alec, Jaycee and Jared; sister, Marilynn and three nieces.
