Amateur radio license classes available for free

The Yavapai Amateur Radio Club is offering free study classes for the “Technician” and “General” licenses. Study guides will be available to purchase optionally.

The first class offered is for the “General” license. This is the go-to license that entry-level amateurs most desire. The three-part class will be held on Saturdays, April 6, 20 and 27, at the Yavapai Jeep Posse Building in Pioneer Park. Sessions will begin at 8:15 a.m. and finish by about 4:30 p.m. each day. For more information or to register for the class, visit the YARC website, www.w7yrc.org. Walk-ins will be accepted only if space is available.

In May, an entry level “Technician” class will be offered. The two-day class will be held Saturday, May 4 and 11. This class will be held at the Yavapai County Cooperative Extension Building in the Prescott Rodeo Grounds. Class begins at 8:15 a.m. and ends at 4:30 p.m. Registration and information can be found at www.w7yrc.org.
