PRESCOTT VALLEY — After Thursday's madness on Day 1 of the NCAA Tournament, Northern Arizona Suns head coach Bret Burchard is tied for first place with two others from the Courier newsroom in the Battle of the Brackets contest.

Burchard, who went 13-3 Thursday and scored 26 total points, tied with senior news editor Tim Wiederaenders (26 points, 13-3) and photo editor Les Stukenberg (26 points, 13-3) for first.

News/sports editor Brian M. Bergner Jr. (24 points, 12-4) and sports reporter Doug Cook (24 points, 12-4) tied for fourth, while community editor Douglas Graham was sixth with a 10-6 record and 20 points.
