Letter: Common interests
We have reached an important stage in our town’s history where our council has evidently disagreed with aspects of Arizona Eco Development’s (A.E.D) intentions and its proposed plan for annexation in the Granite Dells. Council has asked A.E.D to re-submit an annexation request that better reflects the desires of council and, co-incidentally, a large section of our community.
A story in the Prescott Daily Courier, Feb. 26, 2019, describes a petition presented to council by Save the Dells organization along with almost 5,000 signatures that asks council to take into consideration the wishes of a large segment of our community to preserve an iconic section of the Granite Dells.
It is auspicious that our council and Save the Dells have, at this time, converging common interests for the preservation of the Granite Dells. If these two entities could work more closely together, we might see a very favorable outcome for our community.
Clearly, the decisions of our council on this major issue will have a major influence on how people vote in the November election.
