Rabies clinics for cats, dogs in Black Canyon City, Cordes Lakes

The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO) will offer rabies and routine vaccinations for cats and dogs, as well as rattlesnake vaccinations for dogs, in Black Canyon City and Cordes Lakes on Saturday, March 16, and Sunday, March 17, respectively.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 16, Squaw Peak Realty, 34300 S. Old Black Canyon Highway, will make rabies vaccinations available for $15 per cat or dog. A routine vaccination costs $25 per dog, which provides protection against the coronavirus, and $25 per cat, which protects against leukemia.

The rattlesnake vaccine costs $25 per dog, but your dog will need to receive two shots spaced 30 days apart, followed by one shot every six months. YCSO notes that the rattlesnake vaccine doesn’t replace veterinary treatment if your dog is bitten, although it can lessen the effects of a bite.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 17, Holly’s Market, 15970 S. Cordes Lakes Drive, in Cordes Lakes will also make these three vaccinations available.

No appointment is necessary for either of these clinics. However, only cash payments are accepted.

For more information, call YCSO at 928-771-3260 or visit ycsoaz.gov or ycsoaz.sheltertrack.com.
