Burnett, Meinholz winners of Antelope Hills Ladies Golf Association play March 7

Play of the day was Low Gross/Low Net for Antelope Hills Ladies Golf Association March 7 at Antelope Hills Golf Course in Prescott. Winners in the first flight were Heather Burnett with a low gross of 91 and Shary Koch with a low net of 72. Winners in the second flight were Judi Meinholz with a low gross of 96 and Pam Burns with a low net of 63. Winners in the third flight were Vicky Orr with a low gross of 101 and Kathy Wherley with a low net of 71. Closest-to-the-pin honors went to Dee Toci and Marsha Macdougal.

Capital Canyon Club to host golf tournament April 9

The Primavera Open Golf Tournament, hosted by Capital Canyon Club in Prescott, is scheduled for Tuesday, April 9. The four-player team scramble format tournament will tee off at 9:30 a.m. with a shotgun start. Registration will begin at 8 a.m. with breakfast, and a buffet luncheon will follow the tournament, but players are encouraged to register by April 1. An “All At Once Putting Contest” is scheduled for prior to the start of the tournament. The entry fee is $150 per player and includes green fees, cart, range balls, prizes and is tax deductible. Youth home run derby contest set for March 31 in Prescott

Major League Baseball, Full Swing Sports Center and Process Driven Baseball are sponsoring a free home run derby contest for boys and girls ages 12 to 14 in the Prescott, Prescott Valley and Chino Valley area Sunday, March 31. The contest, running 1 to 5 p.m., is scheduled to be held at Ziegler Field, 1185 Commerce Road in Prescott. Registration and sign in will begin at noon. Birth certificates are a requirement. Registration forms can be found at Big 5 Sports Goods store in Prescott, or visit jrhrd.com. The two age groups are 14U (boys/girls born between July 18, 2004 and July 17, 2006) and 12U (boys and girls born after July 18, 2006). Age is determined as of July 17, 2019. Local winners will compete at the Salt River Fields in Scottsdale, the spring training home of the Arizona Diamondbacks, on May 4, 2019. 4th annual Whiskey Basin Trail Runs return to Prescott April 13

The fourth annual Whiskey Basin Trail Runs returns to Prescott on Saturday, April 13. Ultra-marathon runners and beginning trail runners are welcome, with five different race options to choose from. All courses travel along the scenic Prescott Circle Trail. Start times are 5 a.m. (88 Km), 7 a.m. (60 Km), 8 a.m. (33 Km), 9 a.m. (half marathon) and 9:30 a.m. (10 Km). With the Hassayampa Golf Course celebrating its 100th year of existence in 2019, Capital Canyon Club members are seeking out any memorabilia in reference to the club. Members are specifically looking for old score cards, trophies, pictures from 1919 to 1969, brochures, and or newspaper articles. The Prescott PGA Jr. League registration is now open for youth ages 8 to 17 of all skill levels at the Prescott Golf Club.
