Obituary: Delaine (Dee) Anne Johnson
Delaine (Dee) Anne Johnson, 68, of Prescott Valley, Arizona, died March 9, 2019, at the Hospice of the Valley in Phoenix, Arizona. Delaine was born on Sept. 17, 1950, to Clarence (Curly) and Helen (Kinnunen) Johnson in Cloquet, Minnesota.
She graduated from Esko High School in 1968. Dee worked many years as a salesperson in the Prescott area: at Arizona Home Centers, in the Sears optical department, and as a Realtor.
Dee was a friendly, compassionate person who gave her love generously. She shared her love for books and people always making her “long story short” and being realistic about life saying, “It is what it is.” Her brilliant smile, twinkling eyes and chuckles brightened our days. Faith and family were important to Dee. She thrived on attending church, church functions, and family gatherings. Siblings and their spouses, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews were always in her thoughts and prayers.
Dee is preceded in death by her father and mother. She is survived by eight siblings: Glenn, Daryl (Jan), Bradley (Nancy Sisk), Tim (Yvonne), Debra Karvonen (Doug), Rebecca Hill, Ramona Kako (Jeff), and Barbara Makela (Frank).
A funeral service for Dee will be held Saturday, March 16, at Laestadian Lutheran Church of Prescott Valley, 3120 Mountain View, with visitation at 10 a.m., funeral at 11 a.m., followed by a light lunch.
There will be no graveside service.
