Roadwork in Brief: Robinson Drive; Carleton, South Cortez; Montezuma, Sheldon

Robinson Drive

The City of Prescott and Capital Improvements, LLC have reached substantial completion of phase one of the Robinson Drive Reconstruction Project. Improvements consisted of full road removal and replacement of Robinson Drive, from East Gurley Street to Overstreet Drive. Additional improvements included the replacement of aged water and sewer lines, drainage improvements, and the installation of concrete sidewalks, and curb and gutter. Crews will return at a later date to begin work on phase two of the project.

Zone 16 Tank

The City of Prescott and Fann Contracting, Inc. are working on a water utility improvement project. The project includes replacement of the existing Zone 16 water tank, a new water pump station at the south end of Virginia Street, and the installation of new water mains. Additional work includes improvements to the tank access road, resurfacing of Valley Ranch Circle, from Haisley Road to Range Road, and the complete reconstruction of Haisley Road, from Senator Highway to Valley Ranch Circle. The project is scheduled to be complete in spring 2020.

HAISLEY ROAD — Crews will continue constructing retaining walls and catch basins along Haisley Road, from Senator Highway to Valley Ranch Circle, throughout the week. In addition to this work, crews will begin abandoning the old water line and preparing the subgrade.

Please be aware of the following impacts: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, March 11-15.

Haisley Road will be closed to through traffic between Senator Highway and Northwood Loop. Please follow the marked detour to get to your destination. Motorists should allow for extra time to get through the area and use an alternate route if possible.

RANGE ROAD — Crews will be tying in the newly installed water main along Range Road.

Please be aware of the following impacts:

Tuesday, March 12 — A brief water shut off will be required to perform this work. Affected businesses and residents will be notified in advance of the water shut off. Please draw enough water to accommodate your water needs during this temporary shut off period.

Carleton & South Cortez Streets

The City of Prescott and Asphalt Paving & Supply, Inc. are currently working on a roadway reconstruction project. It consists of the removal and replacement of the existing asphalt pavement along West Carleton Street, from the entrance of Mile High Middle School to South Cortez Street, and along South Cortez Street from Carleton Street to Goodwin Street. Additional improvements include the installation of underground storm drain, water and sewer main upgrades, and streetscaping — including landscaping, and the replacement of concrete sidewalks, driveway entrances, and curb and gutter as needed. The project is scheduled for completion in spring 2019.

WATER MAIN — Crews have finished installing new water main and services along West Carleton Street, from the entrance of Mile High Middle School to South Cortez Street.

STORM DRAIN — Crews will continue installing new storm drain along West Carleton Street, from South Montezuma Street to South Cortez Street, throughout the week.

Please be aware of the following impacts: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, March 11-14.

South Montezuma Street will be closed to northbound traffic between West Goodwin Street and West Aubrey Street. West Carleton Street will be closed to through traffic between South Montezuma Street and South Cortez Street. Please follow the marked detour signage to get to your destination. Motorists should allow for extra time to get through the area and use an alternate route.

CONCRETE WORK — The installation of concrete catch basins, sidewalks, driveway entrances, and curb and gutter will continue along West Carleton Street, from South Montezuma Street to South Cortez Street, as needed.

Temporary sidewalk closures will be required while work is underway, however, personnel will accommodate access for local businesses and residents.

STREET PARKING AND ACCESS — To avoid any conflicts with construction equipment, and expedite completion of the project, the contractor asks that you avoid on-street parking while road construction is underway. Personnel will work with businesses and residents to maintain driveway access throughout the work zone.

Montezuma & Sheldon Sewer Relocation

The City of Prescott and Capital Improvements, LLC are currently working on a utility improvement project. The project includes installation of two new sewer main lines, lateral service connections, and removal of the existing sanitary sewer facilities in an area just west of the Montezuma and Sheldon Street intersection. The project is scheduled for completion in spring 2019.

SEWER — Crews will continue installing a new sewer main just West of the N. Montezuma Street and E. Sheldon Street intersection.

Please be aware of the following impacts: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, March 11-15.

One lane of traffic will remain open, however, please be aware of lane restrictions, reduced speeds, rough road conditions, and flagging operations throughout the work zone.
