Rants & Raves: June 9, 2019

Got something on your mind? Tell us about it in 40 words or less.

— Excited to see West Granite Creek Park cleaned up, in coordination with the Hilton.

— The misinformation and propaganda campaign regarding climate change is the result of climate scientists wanting a steady stream of research grants. Climate changes have occurred since the beginning of time with scant evidence it being caused by humans.

— Does anyone else see a major conflict coming by allowing all the residential development so close to one of our busy and fast growing “little” airport?

— In “1984” George Orwell wrote: “The party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.”

— About animals: Has the City or Yavapai Humane Society made any plans for the dogs and cats the evening of July 4th so that they don’t traumatize and injure themselves? Fireworks so close to YHS seems very cruel.

— Corporate tax giveaway to for-profit schools is so blatantly corrupt is blinding. State representative Yarbrough pushed for this giveaway and personally benefited from it to the tune of millions of dollars. This is the Republican party at work in Arizona.

— Small-town Prescott is gone. Now we have congestion, pollution, crime and soon higher taxes. Be sure you thank your local politicians for looking out for us.

— Our local politicians are no better than those at the national level. The solution to everything is increase taxes, increase taxes ... How about better fiscal management, better fiscal management ...

— There are hundreds of reasons to terminate a pregnancy even if a heartbeat has been detected. Just one of them is Downs. Make pro-life politicians responsible for the lifelong care of these children. Roe v Wade should stand as written.

— Re: John Caywood water predictions: my well is already sucking sand and we are at 416 feet. But let’s build more cracker box homes so we can get rid of the pesky wildlife (antelope), create more traffic nightmares, and dry up the aquifer so the developers will be happy.
