Letter: Politics and our border problems

Editor:

Last week, The Daily Courier and the Prescott Valley Tribune carried a captioned picture of a woman who with her Lights for Liberty group walked to the courthouse in support of illegals seeking asylum as a “universal” human right.

This appears to be the mantra of Democrat Party leaders and leftist groups of many names. As a representative republic, the United States of America is led by a constitution written in English. It is the only constitution in the world that lays out the defined duties of government. The key duty of our federal government is to protect the citizens of all states and its elected representatives to swear to protect and defend the constitution.

To visit Egypt I had to pay $92 for a visa to enter the country. It was their right to charge and limit my stay. To support all persons entering America without any permission is not a rule or law in any country in the world. We must protect our borders and our successful economy as a matter of law and protection of all American legal residents.

Ignoring our constitution is to destroy all that has been created by America over 399 years of agricultural capitalism and our Founders who had studied all the failed governments of history. We must support the rule of law and not allow all to be lost through open borders.
