Rants & Raves: July 14, 2019
Got something on your mind? Tell us about it in 40 words or less.
— I am sick and tired of hearing about the so-called ”drought.” Folks, we are living in a desert and our average annual rainfall over the long term is 8 inches. Stop the fear mongering already.
— The GOP and Trump 2020 political signs ruined the Rodeo Parade for many of us. Our city and nation are deeply divided. Can’t we have a hometown event that isn’t polarizing? The Rodeo Parade should stay out of politics.
— Wil Williams’ July 4 column was truth on steroids. People who read it and see themselves or their favored politicians should stop participating in these dangerous ideologies. These actions threaten our Republic.
— Free fireworks in Prescott Valley? If you paid taxes, they were not free, whether you attended or not. At least in Prescott they were paid for by those who attended the main location, not the taxpayers. Nothing is free.
— Will forever miss the Newman Gallery and the special pieces that were produced that told our Prescott story. Thank you.
— Please advise Colin Kaepernick that he can send me any U.S. currency that makes him uncomfortable because of the pictures of former slave owners printed on some of the denominations.
— I am honored to live in a town where the police are engaged and committed. I lost a son to fentanyl in Prescott in October 2015, and the PANT detectives’ impressive work has saved who knows how many lives.
— Organizers of the Watson Lake fireworks deserve a gold star and cookie! Thanks for a great time.
— I would like to see Nike keep the Betsy Ross Flag shoes and unload its “professional athlete.”
