An investigation is currently underway into the theft of about 236 prescription narcotic pills from Arizona Pioneers’ Home in Prescott.

Prescott Police Department spokesperson Dave Fuller said an unknown suspect committed the theft sometime between Dec. 19 and Jan. 6.

The pills were possibly taken “from a medical cart,” Fuller said.

An attempt was made by The Daily Courier to acquire a police report on the incident, but the report is still being worked on.

“After speaking to investigations and due to more information to be provided the report is not releasable at this time,” said Joyce Anderson, PPD’s Police Records supervisor.

Similarly, Philip Schlotter, superintendent for Arizona Pioneers’ Home, refused to comment on the matter given the ongoing investigation.

“It’s still in process, so we don’t have anything to add to it or anything right now,” Schlotter said. “We’ve notified other state departments about it.”
