Judith A. ‘Judee’ Moreno

Judith A. “Judee” Moreno passed peacefully away into Glory on Jan. 1, 2019. She was born on Oct. 22, 1935, in the year of our Lord, in Darby, Pennsylvania.

Judee loved life, had a hearty laugh and cared deeply about the needs of others. Her greatest legacy is that she loved Jesus and demonstrated His servant’s heart to anyone she met.

Judee raised her children in the Phoenix area and enjoyed a career with Motorola, Amway and Horizon High School (aka Judith Smithbaker) for many years before she met and married Ernie Moreno in April 1989. They were the owners and operators of Ernie’s Auto Body Shop in Phoenix before retiring in Dewey, Arizona. Ernie proceeded Judee on April 23, 2016.

Judee loved being a mom and was her children’s most devoted cheerleader. She is survived by her two children, Kym (Rich) Mann, John (Tracey) Smithbaker; and was step-mom to Scott Wolver; sister, Gay Ward and her children; along with brother, Bucky (Neva) Singleton and their children.

Judee has six grandchildren, RJ, Anna, Emily, Madeline, Spe ncer, Meredith; and four great-grandchildren, Riley, Cohen, Mila and Hazel Jae; in addition to numerous other extended family and friends.

A graveside celebration of Judee’s life, her love for Jesus and her journey home to Heaven will be held at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, 2019, at Resthaven Park Cemetery, 6450 W. Northern Ave., Glendale; her gravesite is located on the south side of the cemetery.
