The Prescott Valley Public Library and AZ Freedom Quilters Chapter #546 are hosting the 2019 Quilts of Valor Foundation National Sew Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, in the third floor Crystal Room of the Prescott Valley Public Library. The theme for the 6th Annual QOVF National Sew Day is “On Our Way to 300,000!”
This event supports the local chapter of Quilts of Valor, a group that makes and presents quilts to veterans across Northern Arizona. As the foundation celebrates the milestone of awarding 200,000 quilts since 2003, it acknowledges there is more to do.
The AZ Freedom Quilters will provide the 2019 QOV pattern, fabric, limited cutting mats and other sewing tools. Participants are to bring their sewing machines. In addition, if they so desire, bring red, white and blue fabrics, thread, pins, etc.
Those unable to attend but wanting to participate, may contact the organization for the guidelines and information needed to add a quilt square to the group. For information about the Quilts of Valor Foundation, visit www.qovf.org/. RSVP for the event to 928-759-6193 or email@example.com.
