KINGMAN — The Prescott boys basketball team took the floor for the first time this calendar year and for the first time in more than two weeks. Unfortunately, the Badgers did start 2019 on the winning track, as they fell on the road to region opponent Lee Williams, 74-36.
Defense has been a talking point most of the season regarding the Badgers and tonight for coach Stedman, it was the fast start by the Volunteers that was the difference.
“Rough one,” Stedman said. Lee Williams opened with a 9-0 run and shot 10-19 from the three-point line and never looked back.”
Korey Schwartz led the way for the Badgers, pouring in 14 points to go with four rebounds, followed by Jason Parent with nine points and three rebounds.
The loss drops the Badgers to 1-3 in region play and 4-7 overall, but the Badgers are still in the region picture having only played four of 12 games. Prescott will be back in action Friday, Jan 4, at 7 p.m. when they host non-region opponent, Estrella Foothills.
For the Volunteers, they move to 3-1 in region play and 7-4 on the season. They will be in action next Friday, Jan. 4, at 7 p.m., when they host River Valley.
