Letters: A thank you to Prescott firefighters
A thank you to Prescott firefighters
Re: Prescott firefighters trek several miles to help injured hiker; Dec. 18
The Daily Courier recently reported on my rescue from the Salida Gulch trail after falling and being unable to walk. I am now home recovering from surgery related to a broken leg. I wanted to take a moment to thank those that helped with the ordeal. The Prescott firefighters responded quickly and professionally in attending to me and hiking me out nearly two miles to the waiting ambulance. The members of my hiking club, Prescott Outing, supported the situation with calm and compassion as well. Thank you to the dozen or so responders from the Prescott fire department and the Yavapai County Backcountry Team who prevented a bad situation from becoming worse.
