Updated snow storm status report from City of Prescott, Feb. 22

Below is the latest Snow Event Status Report from the City of Prescott (Updated 5:00 p.m., Feb. 22, 2019)

• Generally, conditions are improving in the City of Prescott. There very little measurable snowfall in the past 12 hours. As of 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 22, over 20 inches of snow has accumulated at City Hall (unofficial). Snow accumulation at Goldwater Lake stands at 36 inches.

• Here is the status of City facilities for the weekend:

• Prescott Public Library will reopen on Saturday, February 23 at 9 a.m.

• Recreation Services will resume normal operations on Saturday as well, with the exception of Watson, Willow and Goldwater Lake parks. The lakes will remain closed until Monday, February 25, so that crews can make the areas safe.

• Rosser Adult Center will reopen on Saturday as well.

• Over the past 48 hours of storm related activities the Prescott Regional Communication Center was responsible for dispatching of 314 Fire/EMS and 371 Law Enforcement calls for service that resulted in an emergency response.

• Prescott Regional Airport is open. The inbound Denver flight and outbound LA flights were on time. One move flight is expected inbound from LA tonight. To check status of flights, use United.com.

• Essential and Emergency City Services remain operational. The City will respond to emergencies, acknowledging limited access/capacity. Please reserve 911 for emergencies. Call 928-777-1100 for non-emergency questions.

• Please be reminded that Prescott is still under a Snow Emergency. Expect continued hazardous winter driving conditions, including ice and possible additional snowfall. PLEASE REFRAIN FROM DRIVING if at all possible so snow plows can continue to operate and emergency services personnel can respond as needed.

• Plow crews are now focusing on secondary roads. They are working to provide at least one path in and one path out of most neighborhoods. Side streets and residential neighborhoods will be fully cleared as conditions permit, over the next several days. Crews will continue to work around the clock over the weekend. There are still areas where snow plows have limited access. This has been an unprecedented snow event, the City urges patience as we continue to make progress.

• Commercial plow operators: Do not push snow into the public street.

• Drivers should now be aware of potholes showing up around town. Please be aware of these, and drive with caution.

• If you have a fire hydrant in front of your property, we appreciate your help clearing snow around the hydrant.

• Snow fall may be experienced through the early evening. Skies are expected to clear tonight, and temperatures will drop to dangerously low levels, with single digit temperatures predicted. Please limit outdoor activities tonight and into tomorrow morning.

• No City streets have been closed and no power outages have been reported.

• Prescott Police Department is fully staffed and patrolling.

• All City of Prescott fire stations are fully staffed and two additional reserve vehicles have been deployed.

• CCJ, US Vets, and Salvation Army are providing emergency shelter for our vulnerable population.

• This will be the final snow event update. The Emergency Operations Center will be physically demobilized, but staff will be available to answer calls.
