Rants & Raves: Feb. 17, 2019

Got something on your mind? Tell us about it in 40 words or less.

  • Moving City Hall to the post office building is a romantic idea that just doesn’t work. You have to upgrade the elevators, stairs, egress and new toilets. Not enough space unless you add a building to the rear. Too bad.

  • Thank you to whoever turned in my purse at the Fair Street Fry’s on Thursday. Storms didn’t stop you from returning to the store with my important belongings. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your honesty and kindness.

  • Kind of funny people are more worried about “criminal cell phone users” than the fentanyl coming across the border.

  • Don’t you think Prescott has enough new housing projects going on? We don’t need all the people and traffic coming into our area. Most of the people coming here bring their terrible attitudes and driving too.

  • I wholeheartedly agree that City Hall should remain in downtown and feel that this is one of the things that makes Prescott truly special – the heart of our city in so many ways is the courthouse plaza.

  • Time for the Mayor, City Council and City Manager to stop hoping and start demanding when dealing with developers. Don’t give them the zoning or infrastructure needed and they will step in line!

  • Hopefully the president will declare DUIs a national emergency, and make it a felony with a one-year mandatory sentence on first conviction. I want drunks and druggies off the county, state and federal highways OUR tax dollars pay for.

  • How many mature trees will be sacrificed in building the “boost-to-the-Prescott-economy” new hotel in Granite Creek Park?

  • The American Way, blame Mexico! It’s called supply and demand; Americans demand, Mexico supplies.

  • Enough with the border wall! How many of our esteemed members of Congress live in a gated community with private guards at the entrance?
