Obituary: William Robert ‘Billy-Bob’ Hamilton

Due to complications of an abdominal aortic aneurysm, William Robert Hamilton, “Billy-Bob,” passed away on Jan. 11, 2019. He was a Korean War and Vietnam Army veteran. He will peacefully be laid to rest beside his wife in Silver Springs, Nevada.

The memorial service is at the VA Chapel on Wednesday, Feb. 20, at 1300. Testimonials encouraged and uniform-of-the day is bright-colored clothes.

“Life is good. I get to come to OT. See all the smiling faces ... work on my art projects ... Life is good!”

In “Positive Sharing,” Billy-Bob always volunteered his philosophies of alien encounters as a fan of the cable show, Ancient Aliens.

Billy-Bob helped others going through tough times and exclaimed, “You can DO IT!!” This simple expression of love gave hope to those struggling. Billy-Bob called “CLEAN-UP time” in his booming voice for all to hear at 1335. Often other vets tried to beat him to the draw and call clean-up time before him. It is very quiet now.

He was King of the Dollar Store, buying butterscotch candy and sharing them with the group. A quilt made of funny tee-shirts he collected will be made as a gift of love for his nieces, Brenda and Cindy. His fancy walker always sported an American Flag and a bicycle bell.

Positive inspiration from a truly kind soul — Billy-Bob is sorely missed each and every day. As Buzz Lightyear professes, “To Infinity and Beyond!” Rest in peace, my friend.

Compiled by “Pinkie” for surviving family members and veterans everywhere.
