After a month-long investigation regarding possible illegal activities, Prescott Police officers served a search warrant Wednesday afternoon and arrested 59-year-old Xia Du for allegedly operating a house of prostitution out of a local massage parlor.

Officers served the warrant at 1:36 p.m. Wednesday on a business located in the 600 block of Miller Valley Road.

During the search, Du, the business operator, was confronted by officers with evidence that had previously been obtained and she admitted to involvement in the offense, according to Prescott PD spokesperson David Fuller.

A male client, whose name was not released, was contacted at the business during the course of the investigation and was cited and released for engaging in prostitution, which is a misdemeanor.

According to a release, the investigation is ongoing and Prescott PD will continue to evaluate and follow up on evidence that was seized at the scene.

Du was booked into the Yavapai County Jail and charged with operating a house of prostitution, which is a felony.

No further information was available.
