Cooking with Diane: Crock Pot Venison Stew

I’m sure there are many ladies out there whose husbands hunt as mine does. We have an abundance of deer and elk meat, so I decided to make this stew. It is delicious with some crusty French bread to have with it. Enjoy!

“Crock Pot Venison Stew”

1 pound deer or elk round steak (cut into chunks)

3 carrots (chopped)

2 cups potatoes (cubed)

1 cup chopped celery

1 cup fresh green beans (cut up)

3 cloves garlic (diced)

1 cup onion (chopped)

1 cup frozen corn

2 cups chopped cabbage

2 cans beef broth

5 cups water

1 package Beefy Onion Soup mix

Salt & pepper to taste

2 tablespoons oil

Pour your oil into a skillet and brown meat well so it has a slight crust on each side. Put browned meat into crock pot, then add all veggies, soup mix and pour broth and water over all. Cook on low for 8 hours.
