Addiction Recovery workshop to discuss codependency
Learn how to cope with unhealthy habits
Prescott Valley Public Library offers a conversation on codependency as part of its monthly Addiction Recovery Workshop Series from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 2, in the library’s Genealogy Room, 7401 East Skoog Blvd.
This is the first of three monthly workshops, and is specifically designed for parents and spouses of addicted loves ones. It will focus on learning coping skills to effectively manage stressful relationships.
The goals of the first workshop on codependency are:
1) Discover unhealthy habits of trying to fix your loved one.
2) Identify harmful patterns that keep you stuck.
3) Implement a self-care plan to enhance personal growth.
Renee Podraza, Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Independent Substance Abuse Counselor, has almost 30 years of experience in the behavioral health field and over a decade of working with families. A therapist in private practice, her area of expertise is counseling those who are struggling with addiction, along with the family members who are affected by this affliction.
