Barnes: Two birds
Concerned about our community?
And our kids in Prescott and the greater Prescott area?
Have a 2018 Arizona tax liability?
Want to kill two birds with one stone?
Turn your tax liability into an Arizona Tax Credit on your 2018 tax return and assign your “tax dollars” to help feed our kids here in Prescott as well as in the Chino Valley, Humboldt and Mayer schools.
Up to $400 for single and $800 for joint tax filers can be designated to various community organizations that help those among us who need our assistance.
One such organization is the Hungry Kids Project, which provides food to our area students who have been identified by school staffs as having little or no food available to them on weekends.
A quick way to direct your tax credit to this project is to visit www.lionstaxcredit.org.
The Prescott Sunrise Lions Club has partnered with the Hungry Kids Project to facilitate directing your tax credit to this organization.
Every dollar you commit to this project goes directly to buy food to feed kids on weekends. There are no overhead or administrative costs.
You have until April 15 to make your contribution and claim your tax credit on your Arizona income tax return.
The kids will appreciate your help … and so will I.
