The world’s only inflatable, walk-through exhibits of the human body are coming to Yavapai Regional Medical Center’s (YRMC) Celebrate Life Health Expo on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 6 and 7, at the Findlay Toyota Center in Prescott Valley.

The event, held at 3201 N. Main Street, is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days. The Expo is a free community service.

MEGA Body, MEGA Heart and Boston Scientific’s Colossal Colon combine learning and fun for a larger-than-life experience. Joining the inflatables at the Expo will be more than 100 entertaining and informative exhibits that focus on health, wellness and active lifestyles.

“The 2019 Expo will be a memorable experience,” said Ken Boush, YRMC’s Director of Marketing and Communications. “The sheer size of the three inflatable exhibits will give people the opportunity to explore how the human body works. The experience is interactive and designed for people of all ages. YRMC is delighted to make MEGA Body, MEGA Heart and Colossal Colon part of this year’s Celebrate Life Health Expo.”

Tours of MEGA Body, MEGA Heart and Colossal Colon will delve into how the body operates, potential health challenges and how lifestyle choices – diet, exercise and not smoking – can help people stay healthy.

MEGA Body is approximately 50 feet long by 15 feet wide by 12 feet tall and features a teeth-to-torso exploration of the human body. The MEGA Body tour highlights the body’s bones, muscles, ears and these organs:

• Brain

• Esophagus

• Stomach

• Intestines

• Kidneys

• Heart

• Lungs

Visitors to MEGA Heart are in for a highly interactive, educational experience. The MEGA Heart adventure demonstrates how a healthy heart functions, features examples of heart disease and highlights the latest treatments for heart problems. MEGA Heart is 26 feet long by 15 feet wide by 13 feet tall.

The team from YRMC’s James Family Heart Center will provide information about heart attacks and irregular heart rhythms as well as the most advanced ways to treat those conditions. They also will highlight these leading-edge procedures performed at the Heart Center:

• Transcatheter mitral valve replacement (TMVR)

• Left atrial appendage closure (LAAC), known as the WATCHMAN

• Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR)

During the Expo, YRMC’s James Family Heart Center will premiere Places in the Heart in a specially configured theatre.

During the 30-minute video, viewers learn how the heart works from Pierre Tibi, MD, FACS, Cardiothoracic Surgeon and Medical Director of the James Family Heart Center at YRMC West in Prescott. Places in the Heart will run every half hour during the Expo.

Tours of Colossal Colon will highlight the significance of the digestive system to our health. Valuable information on Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, colon cancer and how to support colon health will be covered during the tour.

YRMC’s Expo includes 110 organizations committed to health, wellness and community good. Exhibits will feature fun activities, lots of giveaways and chances to get into drawings for great prizes.

“If you like hiking, biking, cooking, exercising and other healthy lifestyle pursuits, you’ll really enjoy this year’s Expo,” Boush said. “There’s going to be opportunities for most everyone, no matter your age or interest.”

Here are a few examples of the experiences and opportunities available at the Expo:
