Letter: Traffic problems
Re: article in June 26 paper, “City Council discussed ‘gummed up’ traffic areas.”
I wonder if a light bulb went off in any City Council member’s head at the meeting with the Public Works Department. Traffic Engineer Ian Mattingly told the council that “we can’t easily accommodate growth ...” as “... we’re an older city.”
Did anyone think “aw shucks,” this is a sign of Prescott’s not too distant future with the prospect of thousands of new homes being built, not to mention the possible homes in the Granite Dells proposed by AED when making these decisions? City Council wants business growth. “Gummed up” traffic is the price Prescottonians will pay thanks to city council’s approval of all these new homes.
