Every April the public is invited to celebrate Child Abuse Prevention Month by attending a free family fun event designed to bring families and communities together in support of the happy, safe and nurturing childhood all children deserve.

This year's Pinwheel Party and Grandparents Raising Grandkids Expo will take place on Saturday, April 27, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Prescott Valley Civic Center lawn, 7501 E. Civic Circle.

At 11:00 a.m. a garden of 3,000 pinwheels will be planted in the civic center lawn. Families are invited and encouraged to participate.

The pinwheel is the national symbol of healthy, happy children.

After the pinwheels are planted, families can check out the many fun activities offered, such as a bounce house, a firetruck, games, activities, resource tables from local family service organizations, and more.

Free $10 gift cards will be distributed to parents who fill out a community survey.

Families are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch.

This annual event is hosted by Prevent Child Abuse Arizona and Area Agency on Aging-NACOG with partnership assistance from Humboldt Unified School District.
