Letter: Sorry development
I was present at a conversation recently where someone asked why so many people in Prescott hate developers. The person doing the asking is one of those who supports runaway development at all costs.
My answer is, to rich developers it is all about money and nothing else. They do not even try to assimilate into the community. They don’t care.
As a prime example, look no further than the fate of Miller Valley School. This beloved historic building was razed by its owner -- and now the vacant lot is sporting a “For Sale” sign. The owner apparently figured a vacant lot would be easier to sell than a property with an old building. Nice.
Developers have long had friends in high places in this area, but to the rest of us, they have clearly shown over many years they care nothing about our community’s history and culture. This is why so many don’t like them.
