Obituary: Rebecca Ann Hume
Rebecca Ann Hume was born July 17, 1953, in Phoenix, Arizona, to Joseph Robert Hume Sr. and Beverly Nan Davis. She was born into an Air Force family that lived in many locations around the U.S. After her father retired as a Lt. Colonel, the family moved to Prescott, Arizona, in 1969. She graduated from Prescott High in 1971. Rebecca graduated from NAU in Flagstaff, Arizona, with a journalism degree in 1976.
She is preceded in death by her nephews, Eric Hume (2001), Deacon Hume (2002); and her father, Joseph Robert Sr. (2017). She is survived by her mother, Beverly Hume; her brothers, Joseph Robert Jr. (Joyce), David Alan Hume (Autumn), both their families; and many nephews, cousins, great-nieces and more.
Rebecca was always ready to help her family whenever needed. She was always generous to her loved ones, especially with her time, energy and gourmet cooking.
She had a career as a court reporter when she lived in Tucson in 1985. When she moved back to Prescott, Arizona in 1997, Rebecca got her teaching certificate and started substitute teaching. This is where she was able to really use her love of crafts and working with children ... She had always done art projects, made costumes and baked with her nephews.
People joining this family appreciate the closeness of the whole extended family that all settled in Arizona, and frequently gathered together. We will love and miss her forever... In lieu of flowers please make donations to the National Diabetes Association.
