Dorothy Leeper Boswell

Dorothy Leeper Boswell, 90, went home to be with the Lord on Sept. 22, 2018, after a brief illness. A longtime resident of Prescott, Arizona, she spent her last five years in North Hollywood, California, in the loving care of her daughter, Lira.

Born to William Wilson and Gertrude Thomas Leeper in Leesville, Ohio, on June 10, 1928, Dorothy was blessed with a large and loving family. She received her Bachelor’s degree in speech therapy and worked in the field for two years before marrying Dr. John Robert “Bob” Boswell on Aug. 23, 1963, in Leesville. The couple retired to Prescott in 1993, where they were active members of Cornerstone Evangelical Free Church.

She will be dearly missed by her daughter, Lira Maywood; two stepdaughters, Mary Lou Bedore and Christine Marchand (Paul); two stepsons, Thom and Bruce Boswell (Rossana); three grandchildren, Joshua, Sarah and Ashley Bedore; her sister, Alice Tope (Elmer); sister-in-law, Mary Leeper; and a large extended family of cousins, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bob; four brothers, William, Francis, Robert and Thomas Leeper; two sisters, Shirley and Marilyn Leeper.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2018, at Village Church Burbank. Her ashes will be interred in the family plot at Leesville Cemetery, Leesville, Ohio.
