Obituary: Joyce Laura Kuchar Pratt
Joyce Laura Kuchar Pratt, 92, died Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018, peacefully in her sleep, at her home in Prescott, Arizona, with her husband, Robert, at her side, from complications of a stroke.
She was born Feb. 2, 1926, in Montvale, New Jersey, to Miles and Anna (Blovsky) Kuchar. She was educated in Montvale Elementary School and graduated from Park Ridge (N.J.) High School in 1943. She graduated with a major in Music from New Jersey College for Women (now Douglass College of Rutgers University) in 1947. After her marriage to Robert in 1949, she lived in Park Ridge, New Jersey, Takoma Park, Maryland, River Vale, New Jersey, Hillsdale, New Jersey, before moving to Prescott, Arizona in 1986.
She was an active member of First Congregational Church in Park Ridge and in a number of community groups in River Vale, New Jersey. She was a principal in several real estate ventures while living in New Jersey.
Her greatest interest was her family of four children. She is survived by her husband, Robert; her brother, Miles Kuchar of Montvale, New Jersey; her daughter, Nancy (Norman) Finfer of Rockville Centre, New York; her son, Bruce (Karen) of Richmond, Kentucky; her son, David (Terry) of Erwinna, Pennsylvania; daughter, Laura (Joe) Von Holle of Beavercreek, Ohio; and grandchildren, Quincy, Bethany (Daniel), Joy, Joanna, Kaylyn, Nolan, and Robbie.
She selected Prescott, Arizona, as her place for retirement and she and her husband had a home designed for retirement living. She was active in the Prescott United Methodist Church for several years until her health began to deteriorate.

A celebration of Joyce’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, 2018, at the Prescott United Methodist Church, 505 W. Gurley St., Prescott, Arizona.
