PRESCOTT VALLEY — Scottsdale Community College defeated the Yavapai College Roughriders, 2-1, Saturday night in Prescott Valley.

Yavapai falls to 4-2-0 on the year, and the win gives Scottsdale its first win of the season — improving to 1-4-1.

The loss is only the 17th in 30 years for the Green and Gold, which is are now 316-17-5 at home in their storied history.

First to score was Yavapai’s Jose Perez Flores, assisted by Kevyn Lo, in the 4th minute.

Scottsdale tied the match in the 54th minute on a penalty kick by Neeve Bell, followed by the go-ahead in the 81st minute by Scottsdale’s Hunter Clem, assisted by Kamani Stewart.

UP NEXT

Yavapai College plays host to the Geckos from Gateway Community College on Tuesday, Sept. 11. The match will be played at Mountain Valley Park in Prescott Valley beginning at 6 p.m.
