The Hilton Garden Inn deal was not only hastily arranged but seems to be a foolish deal as well. One cannot rent a house for $15,000 a year. Why lease this important site for so little?
But a still worse idea is to even think of allowing six stories. I don’t think we want that eyesore in the middle of town and if a special use permit is allowed how is the city ever again to enforce its 70-foot height limit?
Let us not be so eager to sell our soul for a little sales tax and bed tax.
