Brandon Selinsky

Brandon Selinsky, 28, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away on Aug. 26, 2018. He was born March 16, 1990, in Phoenix to James Selinsky and Jaye Lene Cornell Long.

Brandon enlisted in the United States Army on April 10, 2012, at the age of 22. In 2012, Staff Sergeant Selinsky attended Basic Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, and Advance Individual Training (AIT) in Fort Lee, Virginia, where he was awarded the MOS of 91b (Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic). After completion of AIT Brandon was assigned to Bravo Company 526 Brigade support battalion Fort Campbell, Kentucky as a wheeled vehicle mechanic. While assigned at Fort Campbell, Brandon was deployed to Afghanistan from Jan. 21, 2014 to Aug. 12, 2014, and also deployed to Kuwait from March 8, 2016 to Dec. 30, 2016. After Departing Fort Campbell in 2017, Brandon was assigned to Fox Company 2-12 Field artillery 1st Striker Brigade 4th Infantry Division Fort Carson, Colorado. While assigned to Fort Carson, He was again deployed to Kuwait from May 11, 2018 to July 3, 2018. Brandon is preceded in death by his twin brother, Travis Selinsky, U.S. Army, Joseph Selinsky U.S. Navy, C.D. Russell, J. L. Cornell USMC and Francis Cornell U.S. Navy.

Brandon is survived by his spouse, Courtney Smith; father, James Selinsky and stepmother, Chalonne Selinsky; mother, Jaye Lene Cornell Long and stepfather David Long; sister, Cassandra Bertella; brothers, Kyle and Jesse Selinsky; stepsister, Donna Long; grandmothers, Mildred Selinsky and Darlene Russell; uncles, James and Jeff Cornell and Fred, Mike and Mark Selinsky; aunts, Michelle Cornell, Susan Cornell and Kathy Selinsky; niece, Sarah Trombetta; and nephew, Noah Bertella.

Services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Sept. 7, 2018, at CIVANA Carefree, 37220 N. Mule Train Road, Carefree, AZ 85377. A committal service with Military Honors will follow at 2 p.m. at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, Arizona 85024.
