Bears football remains atop Grand Canyon poll after strong showing in Week 3
Flagstaff, Prescott and Coconino are 3, 4 and 5, but separated by only 3 points
PRESCOTT VALLEY — The Bradshaw Mountain football team made it four straight weeks atop the Grand Canyon Media Football Poll when it was released late Tuesday night, recording 72 points and receiving seven first-place votes.
The Bears (3-0, 0-0 Grand Canyon) had no problems with Youngker in Week 3, earning a 54-14 win to start 3-0 for the first time since 2010.
Mingus held firm at No. 2 with 66 points and received four first-place votes. The Marauders (3-0, 0-0 Grand Canyon) are also a perfect three-for-three to begin the season, escaping with a 24-21 win over Mesquite on Friday last week.
Flagstaff (third), Prescott (fourth) and Coconino (fifth) all won Friday night, but are separated by only three points between third and fifth place.
Entering Week 4, Bradshaw Mountain (Greenway) and Prescott (Deer Valley) have big games at home, while Mingus travels to Seton Catholic this Friday night. It is the last round of non-region games for many of the Grand Canyon squads, as Week 5 opens region play with Bradshaw Mountain at Lee Williams, Prescott at Flagstaff and Mingus at Coconino.
