A midafternoon collision between a truck and SUV sent one man to the hospital and temporarily shut down traffic Tuesday on Highway 69 in Prescott Valley. The incident occurred at about 2:45 p.m. when a blue KIA Sportage rear-ended a white Chevy truck as it approached the intersection of Highway 69 and Navajo Road. The driver of the truck, which had Florida license plates, was transported to Yavapai Rregional Medical Center’s east campus with possible head and neck injuries. The driver and passenger in the KIA were not injured. The driver of the KIA was issued a citation by PV police for failing to control speed in order to avoid a rear-end collision. Traffic was backed up for Highway 69’s east bound lanes for nearly half an hour until the vehicles were moved and debris cleared from the roadway.
