Cooking With Diane: Apple Cranberry Crisp
I think this apple cranberry dessert is perfect for the upcoming holiday season. It is sweet and tart, and great topped with a scoop of whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
“Apple Cranberry Crisp”
2 pounds Granny Smith apples (peeled and sliced)
3/4 cup fresh cranberries
1/4 cup sugar
3 teaspoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1/3 cup oats
1/3 cup flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup cold butter (cut into pieces)
1/2 cup pecans
In a bowl, mix apples, cranberries, sugar, cinnamon, & nutmeg. Spread evenly into a greased 8x8 baking dish. Then combine oats, flour and brown sugar; mix in butter pieces until the mix is crumbly. Sprinkle over apple cranberry mixture.Bake at 375 degrees for 45-50 minutes until fruit is tender.
