Suspect arrested following threatening, intimidating messages
Prescott resident Justin Oquendo, 38, was arrested by the Prescott Police Department Friday, Oct. 26, following reports of threatening and intimidating text messages, according to an email from Prescott Police Department Public Information Officer David Fuller.
The department received the report concerning the messages, which involved a worker-employee type relationship, on Wednesday, Oct. 24, though the victim only wanted the situation documented at that time.
However on Friday, the victim presented a valid court order against harassment and wanted to assist in prosecution.
During the investigation, Oquendo was located in Kwana Court in Prescott Lakes and because Oquendo was alleged to usually carry a firearm, officers drew their weapons and issued commands to Oquendo. They were followed, he was taken into custody without incident and later booked into the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office jail.
A separate investigation into a possible DUI was also started and is ongoing, but no arrests have been made.
