Cordes Lakes Community Association holds successful fundraising dinner
After a tough year, things may be turning around for the Cordes Lakes Community Association.
A spaghetti dinner Oct. 20 drew a good showing of volunteers for the kitchen, selling tickets and covering the raffle, and the ladies from Spring Ridge Academy were on hand to serve the meal.
The food was a bargain at $6.50 as it included salad, garlic bread, tea or coffee, and dessert, which was a choice of fruit Jell-O or Lucy’s famous rice pudding from her Papa’s Place days.
The group has gone through a period where bills, taxes, insurance and other expenses were not paid, and many volunteers dropped out. Now, the treasurer says all old bills are paid and the only thing left is to catch up on is property taxes.
Hopefully, with the support of the volunteers and customers for the dinners and other events, things will turn around for the association.
