Suspicious PV death under investigation
Woman dies in home, witnesses either flee or lie

Prescott Valley police are investigating a suspicious death that occurred in the 3700 Block of Robin Drive this week.

Officers and detectives responded to the scene shortly before 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 1, based on the report of a non-responsive 34-year-old female house guest, according to a Prescott Valley Police Department (PVPD) news release.

During an investigation, police determined that people who were present when the woman died fled the house before police arrived. It was also determined that those who were at the scene were not truthful with the information they gave, PVPD reported.

Detectives have identified and interviewed four people who were at the house when the woman died. A search warrant was also used to inspect the house and the vehicles of those were visiting at the time.

Investigators believe that drugs, including methamphetamine and alcohol, may have played a role in the woman’s death, PVPD reported.

At the request of the Yavapai County Medical Examiner, the woman’s body was transported and released to the Yavapai County Medical Examiner so an autopsy can be performed. Toxicology results have yet to be released.

This incident is still under investigation.
