Detectives have made some progress in tracking a man who is believed to have broken into an Ash Fork gas station on Friday, Sept. 21.

Items stolen from the gas station’s cash register included vendor checks and lottery tickets, according to the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office. Security footage from a Maverik gas station in Flagstaff show a man attempting to validate the stolen lottery tickets just before 7 a.m. on Sept. 21 — about six hours after the burglary occurred.

He is described as a man, 6-foot in his late 20s to early 30s, weighing about 190 pounds. He was driving a blue Ford sedan at the time.

The suspect was successful in cashing a check stolen from the market at a Walmart in Phoenix on Sept. 24.

Anyone with information regarding the identity of this suspect is encouraged to contact Detective Mark Yates at 928-777-7273 or Yavapai Silent Witness at 1-800-932-3232. A direct tip to Silent Witness that results in an arrest will become eligible for a cash reward.
