Embry-Riddle, UC-Merced set for Saturday clash of top 2 Cal Pac clubs
PRESCOTT — Holly Ross, Riley Martinson and Parker Lee each had two goals for the No. 11-ranked Embry-Riddle women’s soccer team, which scored nine first-half goals in a 13-0 rout over Simpson on Thursday night.
The Eagles (9-2, 4-0 Cal Pac) outshot Simpson 57-1, including 28 shots on goal in 90 minutes of play. It is the fourth-straight victory for Embry-Riddle, which last lost 2-0 against No. 1-ranked Spring Arbor three weeks ago.

Ross kicked off Thursday night’s contest with two goals in the first eight minutes of play, then Martinson scored back-to-back goals in the 12th and 14th minutes to take a 4-0 lead and the Eagles never looked back.
Nine different players scored for Embry-Riddle, which recorded its sixth shutout of the season. The Eagles have allowed only seven goals all season compared to 35 goals scored.
Krista Lee, the 2017 Cal Pac Player of the Year, scored her first goal of the season for the Eagles in the 24th minute to make it 7-0.
Sierra Vicente had two assists, while Ross, Martinson, Jamie Wilson and Alexis Ahrens each had one in the victory.
Embry-Riddle welcomes UC-Merced (6-4-1, 4-1 Cal Pac) to Prescott on Saturday, Oct. 6. The Bobcats trail the Eagles by only a half game in the Cal Pac standings. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
