Here at Del Rio School, we will value and encourage Character Counts specifically Respect. A student who stands out is a fifth-grader named Miley Elsea in Mrs. Holder’s class.
Mrs. Holder stated that Miley “is a bright light in our classroom; her smile is contagious. She is always respectful and responsible, which makes her a positive role model for others. I can see she cares for others and is always reaching out to those who need her. I am so grateful to have the pleasure of having Miley in my class.”
When asked why respect matters, Miley stated “being respectful gives you a good reputation and it shows people you care.”
Serving as Student Council vice president, Miley has a strong desire to make changes on our campus. Her election slogan was “Vote for Miley and you’ll be smilely”! She wants all students to smile and enjoy being at Del Rio School. She hopes to make a positive impact through planning events to create opportunities for students to create stronger friendships.
Miley truly enjoys school, especially her time in reading with Mr. Rudnick. When she is not in school, you can find her playing her favorite sport: soccer. Miley wants to be a lawyer when she grows up, so that she can help change people’s lives.
We are so proud to have students like Miley who are making a positive impact on our world. Keep up the GREAT work Miley!
