Flags have been ordered at half-staff at all government buildings from sunrise to sunset.

Governor Doug Ducey ordered that flags at all state buildings be lowered to half-staff immediately until sunset Saturday, December 1, 2018, to honor the life of Deputy U.S. Marshal Chase White who was killed in the line of duty in Tucson on November 29, 2018.

Flags will also be lowered on the day of interment, which has not been set.

“Arizona mourns the loss of Deputy U.S. Marshal Chase White who was killed while protecting our state. Deputy White’s ultimate sacrifice reminds us of the dangers that law enforcement officers and first responders face every single day we’re eternally thankful for his courage and dedication and thankful to every hero who serves. Rest in peace, Chase White, Arizona’s prayers are with your family, friends and colleagues during this difficult time,” said Governor Ducey. “

In honor of Deputy U.S. Marshal Chase White’s life and service, I’ve ordered flags at all state buildings be lowered to half-staff effective immediately.”
