Corridor Calendar: Week of Nov. 30, 2018
Tuesday Planners are back. Each Tuesday at 9 a.m. the planners will meet at the Community Center, 16357 S. Cordes Lakes Drive to plan for events, such as Cookies with Santa. All are welcome and volunteers are needed.
Little Learners, ages 2 to 5, are invited to join the library group from 11 a.m. to noon each Friday. There will be story time, crafts, songs and snacks. This will be a new event for every Tuesday. 15989 S. Cordes Lakes Drive.
Produce – Dec. 19 and 27. Sign up starts at 7 a.m. and doors close at 9 a.m, at the Community center, 16357 S. Cordes Lakes Drive. NOTE: Since this is around the holidays, dates may change.
Tree Lighting will take place Nov. 30 at 6 p.m. at the Cordes Lakes Community Center at 6 p.m. Cookies and hot chocolate will be available after the lighting ceremonies.
Craft Sale will be held Dec. 8, at the Cordes Lakes Community Center. Tables are $20, please contact June at 928-899-3150 to reserve your table. This is NOT a yard sale, just items for gifting. Doors open at 8 a.m. and close at 3 p.m.
Food will be available, so plan to enjoy lunch at the Center as you shop for those one-of-a-kind Christmas presents.
Community Association General Meeting is Dec. 13 at 7 p.m., 16357 S. Cordes Lakes Drive. Guest speaker is Santa Claus who will give us an update on who has been naughty or nice. Santa is NOT taking requests at this time but will see everyone at Cookies with Santa on Saturday.
Dec. 15 is Cookies with Santa. Please contact Judy if you can help with this event. We need cookie donations, help with the craft tables for children, etc.

Balance Class early next year with time and dates to be announced later. This class addresses falling, better balance and flexibility. Contact Judy at 928-499-8174 to start the list for this class. We must have 10 people signed up in order to have the representative of NACOG to come to Cordes Lakes to teach this class.
Friends of the Spring Valley Library are having a Christmas Bazaar on Dec. 15 from 3 to 6 p.m. This will be at Mayer High School and includes a bake sale, used book sale, hand-crafted gifts. There will also be free clothes, first come first served. Santa will give out presents.
The annual Cookie Party will take place at the MAAC (Mayer Area Activity Center) on Dec. 9 from 1 to 3 p.m. This is a fundraiser for meals on wheels, so please bring some cookies to share and some to be put away for the meals-on-wheels shut-ins. If you don’t want to bake, please put something in the donation jar to help keep this program going.
U.S. Flag retirement — A bin has been placed at the Mayer St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store (open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday) for worn U.S. flags. They will be collected by American Legion Post 122 and retired with dignity. If you have a flag ready to be retired, please take it to the Thrift Store.
WEEKLY EVENTS -
Bingo is held every Wednesday at 6 p.m. Doors open at 5 p.m. with sandwiches and snacks available.
Taco Tuesday at the Center is from 4 to 7 p.m. to either eat there or take-out. Story Time at Cordes Lakes Library is every Friday with the Little Learners at 11 a.m.
American Legion meets at 1 p.m. the third Friday of the month at Cordes Lakes Community Center. This is an open meeting and all are welcome.
Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts meet at the church at 17330 E. Mule Deer Drive in Spring Valley at 6 p.m. every Wednesday. Scouts learn new skills by earning badges, enjoy camping, hiking, and much more. Contact Garrison Russell at 702-439-7316 for more information or to join.
Big Bug Charity Quilters meet from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. every Monday at the Mayer Senior Center, 10051 Miami. Beading is held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesdays. Call MOW at 928-632-7511 for more information.
MOPS meets the first and third Thursdays from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Mayer Community Church, 10001 Fifth Street in Mayer.
Knit & Crochet meets at 9:30 a.m. Thursdays at Flour Stone Bakery in Mayer. This is for everyone, beginners and advanced. Bring your own project and supplies, help is here.
Big Bug Gem & Mineral Club holds its outings on the third Monday of the month with meetings held the following Tuesday at 7 p.m. at various members’ homes. Contact Ken Dunham at 928-899-6810 for more information. Meetings are held at member’s homes and varies by month.
Mayer Fire has its open board meetings at 5 p.m. the third Wednesday of the month at the main location, 11975 S. Highway 69.
Meals on Wheels Spaghetti Dinner will be held at 10051 S. Miami, on the third Sunday of every month from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. for $8 per person.
