The Prescott Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at United Christian Youth Camp after the quick-thinking of a local camper dialing 911 in the early hours Saturday morning.

At approximately 6 a.m. Saturday, PFD arrived on scene and found a chapel meeting area fully engulfed in flames extending up into the trees.

The building, which is estimated at 1,500 square feet and built in 1988, had no occupants inside. It took Prescott Fire between 20 and 30 minutes to extinguish the flames, according to spokesperson Jeff Jones.

It is unknown what actually caused the fire, but crews were able to protect the area where it seems the fire started for investigators to determine the cause.

The camper who called 911 was not identified. No further details were provided.
