Letter: Inflammatory Polman
I just finished the latest screed by Dick Polman attacking (again) President Trump over what he says is Trump’s inciting the would be bomber Cesar Sayoc to mail pipe bombs to several key liberal political figures. Over the years, I have probably sent more letters to the editor in response to this particular writer than any other, and I tried to resist doing it this time, but I just couldn’t help myself. Polman is in a class by himself when it comes to inflammatory rhetoric, the same kind that he accuses President Trump of producing.
Without trying to refute the bullet points of this ridiculous and scary so called editorial, let me just say that Polman’s central theme seems to be that the actions of this crazed person were the direct result of Trump’s rhetoric. Trump is the villain here, not Sayoc. Sayoc was merely the tool of that demonic Trump. My response to Polman regarding false and inflammatory verbiage, is to look to yourself, Dick. Maybe a little self-reflection would help you understand how scary you sound to some of us, and save me the trouble to have to come up with a response to you.
