Barbara “Barb” Ann Mure

Barbara “Barb” Ann Mure passed away on Oct. 29, 2018, in her home following a courageous nine-year battle with breast cancer. She was born April 27, 1940, to Josephine and Herman Boeckmann in Louisville, Kentucky.

She graduated from Tilghman High School, Paducah, Kentucky, in 1958, and four years later from the University of Kentucky majoring in Business. Professionally, she was in banking for many years and worked in the State Attorney General’s office in Phoenix for 15 years before retiring to Prescott in 2004. Following retirement, Barb loved RVing, kayaking, picnics, taking OLLI classes, attending the Unity of Prescott Church, movies, concerts, and lunches with family and friends. She will long be remembered in our minds and hearts for her bubbling personality, including her orneriness, and enthusiasm for life.

She is survived by her daughter and granddaughter, Kelley Jo and Morgan Lepler of Prescott; her sister, Betty Higdon (Phil); niece, Andrea Higdon-Lane (Mike); and nephew, Philip Higdon of Paducah, Kentucky; her best friend, Ann Moseley; many wonderful friends and her beloved dog, Shayin.

We, the family, greatly appreciate the wonderful care of Dr. Michael Aranda and Hospice of the Pines. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her name to the Hospice of the Pines or the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

Per her request, she did not want a service but did give us permission to hold a Celebration of Life if we wanted to, so we are! Thursday, Nov. 29, 2018, from 1-4 p.m., Unity of Prescott Church, Fellowship Hall, 145 S. Arizona Ave., Prescott, Arizona, 86303. This is an uplifting and casual gathering, so wear your comfy clothes and bring your best “Barb” stories. All are welcome.
