Morning crash kills 91-year-old Prescott man
Collision under investigation
A 91-year-old Prescott man died after a vehicle collision at the intersection of Prescott Lakes Parkway and Highway 69 Tuesday morning, May 29.
Prescott Police Department (PPD) officers and emergency medical personnel responded to the scene at about 8:40 a.m. They found several vehicles involved.
Based on witness statements and evidence gathered on scene, PPD investigators determined that a 2015 Chevy Sedan, driven by 91-year-old David Branch of Prescott, was attempting to make a left turn from Prescott Lakes Parkway onto Highway 69 when he collided with a 2004 Chevy SUV driven by 53-year-old Rebecca Myers of Prescott Valley, who was traveling west on Highway 69.
Two other vehicles stopped at the intersection were also impacted by the vehicles.
Branch and Myers were both treated at the scene by emergency personnel. They were both and transported to the Yavapai Regional Medical Center. Branch later died in the hospital and members of his family were notified of his death, police reported.
Traffic was delayed and the road was closed immediately following the crash while the incident was under investigation.
Members of the Prescott Police Department Traffic Safety Section are investigating the collision, and will study the scene and the evidence to determine the cause and contributing factors of the collision.
