Some of Prescott's early settlers including Civil War Veterans are buried at the Citizen's Cemetery on Sheldon Street in Prescott. Monday morning hundreds of people attend the somber Memorial Day Ceremony at the Citizen's Cemetery to honor the fallen from various branches of the United States Armed Forces.

The ceremony recreated from the 1908 ceremony had speakers choke up as they recited Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address, talk about their fallen brothers whose they served with and those heroes they had met in their final days while in hospice care.
